I’ve been wanting to try this place since they’ve opened. Never could find the time, but on a Wednesday night pre-comedy show I dragged my friends along. Time was of the essence and everyone was so accommodating. Staff couldn’t have been more accommodating to my unrealistic time crunch. Old Specled Hen, on point. Sausage rolls and scotch egg shouldn’t be missed. The true selling point is the warmth of hospitality. Thank you so very much Erin and Sam!!!!!

Once upon a time, I was lost. Struggling to find my way in this cruel world. Drifting from one place to another, both literally and figuratively. My light was fading... And then, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of my burnt soul, I stumbled upon Audacity. The yorkshire pudding, fish and chips, and curry chicken salad, downed with a Belhaven fresh from the tap....I had found my way once again.

I got the opportunity to attend the grand opening of Audacity in Manchester, CT and here's how it went! (Sorry this is so late. Lol.) Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right downtown Manchester on Main Street is this gem where Lucky Taco once stood. It echoes the standard British pubs and taverns from across the pond with deep yellow lighting, woods, exposed brick walls and open floorplan kind of vibe. It was lively, energetic and welcoming! Service: Lara took excellent care of us and she was very helpful! I had no issues at all. Food/Drinks: On the table when we arrived was an Irn Bru which is a SUPER popular drink sold in Scotland, often beating Coca-Cola in sales. It tasted like orange licorice, but it was actually pretty decent. Our first appetizer was an order of Crisps which were like thick cut potato chips with some garlic parmesan seasonings which I actually enjoyed! There was plenty of flavor from each component involved. Next up was the 007 which was their spin on the martini James Bond orders! In it is Wheatley Vodka, Bombay Gin, and English Tea Infused Lillet Blanc. It tasted like a dirty martini and was pretty strong! Smooth as well. I enjoyed it. Next up was a dish called Toad In The Hole which is Yorkshire pudding stuffed with smoked sausage then topped with caramelized onions and gravy. I have never seen anything like this before, but it was so strange, but pretty decent! The Yorkshire pudding was a bit eggy and dense. The gravy was a must though, since the other components of the dish lacked the salt that I was seeking. Next up was the Cloth Of Gold Old which is an Old Fashion with a twist which contained Old Forester, fresh lemon and honey. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure why the mention of Old Fashion was on the menu unless this is supposed to differ from an "Old Fashioned". No matter, moving on. Next up were the Potato Pom Pom which are fired potato balls served with a house-made cheddar cheese sauce. It sounds like a simple dish. The cheese was thick, majorly cheddar-y. I really, really liked these! They tasted like a fancy tater tot. The potato inside was so soft and tender and the exterior was so crispy. My last drink of the night was the Bramble On Rose which is their take on a 1980's classic created in Soho, London. In it is Bombay Gin, fresh lemon, rose water and blackberry syrup. This was my favorite drink of the night. It was fresh, had some herbal flavors and the rose flavor made itself known. I really, really liked this drink and would certainly order it again. Lastly, the quintessential Fish & Chips! It's Atlantic cod in a brown ale batter, served with musky peas, chips, tartar sauce and a curry sauce. The curry sauce was surprisingly fantastic. I was blown away and absolutely needed more of it. The mushy peas resembled guacamole, but I had no idea how I was supposed to eat them. Lol. Were they a sauce? I don't know, but they tasted exactly how you'd think they'd taste. The fish was also fantastic. It was light, yet greasy and crispy. Value: The most expensive thing on the menu is $22.00. This place is not expensive at all so you certainly won't break the bank. Portions are decent size too. In conclusion, I absolutely enjoyed myself here and highly recommend you (reading this) to check it out! British food is... unpredictable if I must throw a word on it. Lol. Like, I almost couldn't predict what some of this stuff would taste like because I had never had anything like it before! Now, I'm a believer!

It was my first time coming here with a group of three. Decent draft list but where they excel is definitely the food and atmosphere. Perfect hangout music and vibe. The fish and chips looks great. I didn't order but have seen at least 8 patrons order and it's a giant portion of fish. I'm going to come back to get it and hangout. Shout out Keith he's the greatest. 10/10 experience at face value. 15/10 if the fish and chips is as good as it looks. 30/10 if Keith is there. The complimentary crisps are perfect and a nice thoughtful touch.

This was the 1st time visiting this restaurant with a friend. Definitely a great experience! The food - we had burgers - were cooked perfectly and very filling. We had a wonderful Old Fashioned - and then a fancy Irish Coffee. The atmosphere was casual - not too loud that we could not hear each other. But what made the night outstanding was our waiter - Dan. He was very friendly, courteous - not overbearing, but always there when we needed something. He had great suggestions and just made us feel welcome! I will definitely be going back when I am back in the Manchester area.

First time at this place and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was so delicious. We were served some tasty homemade chips to nibble on while we looked over the menu. I had the Cornish Pastry savoring every bite. The pastry was flaky and the sirloin stuffing was favorable and moist. I totally enjoyed the mashed potatoes and gravy. Who doesn't love mashed potatoes? The portion was a very generous size and the price most reasonable. The building had a cozy vibe, so different than anything around. I totally felt comfortable there. The effort you have taken to make it so authentic was appreciated by us all. I look forward to going back soon. Manchester Welcomes You!!
